Learn to love the water with SOLS
Let’s stay calm, slow down and try to determine why your child won’t get in the pool. Does it cause sensory overload, are they scared, or are they having a bad day?
Let your teacher guide you. Generally, we will try and conduct a lesson from the steps or while your child is sitting on the outside of the pool. Our teachers will conduct activities such as; throwing toys into the water, lieing on the ground and reaching into the water for them, sitting on the edge and kick the water with their toes, Filling buckets with water for them to play with.
What can they bring from home into the pool that will make the transition more comfortable and familiar.
